Welcome to StrongQueens, a nonprofit driven by a mission to help women immigrants and refugees develop critical English skills, computer literacy, and career skills. StrongQueens was designed to increase confidence and to overcome system, racial, misogynistic barriers for women immigrants. Working with my fellow board members (listed below), we launched 3 initiatives - Breaking Barriers, Career Expertise, and, #womenInCS. We hope that this will allow them to not only feel confident in themselves, but also overcome the barriers that still exist for women immigrants.
Our board members are as follows:
Fouder & Chief Effective Officer: Adwita Garg
"I am so excited to meet women immigrants in Redmond and the greater Seattle area! I deeply connect and resonate with those facing obstacles and barriers and hope StrongQueens can better support you and become a trustable community space!" -Adwita
Chief Operating Officer: Brianna Ong
"I believe everyone should have access to technology and its outstanding opportunities and benefits it provides to immigrants, especially women. I hope everyone gets a chance to learn something new that can help them work towards their next job or even help them in their personal life." -Brianna
Chief Technology Officer: Suhani Garg
"As the CTO and child of immigrants, I know what deep impact barriers and issues can have on families - language barriers, lack of security, and not having a community to truly connect to. StrongQueens hopes to be that community everyone can count on." -Suhani
Vice President of Outreach Management: Rishika Sujeer
"I believe that a strong sense of community and culture can close the fear millions of immigrants face when coming into the US that isn't still provided in many programs. I hope that with our current board, we can continue to serve the women immigrant population in greater Seattle." -Rishika
Vice President of Project Management Services: Neeti Vaidya
"Here in Redmond, our community is full of immigrants, from tech executives to service workers. Yet, I still feel a lack in help for the women immigrant community. I find StrongQueens a beautiful way to combine my passion for technology with a passion for helping out the community and giving back to a group that is important to me." -Neeti
Vice President of Communications: Vaishnavi Vuttravadium
"I am grateful to be part of something larger in Seattle - it is very r
are that nonprofits are focused on immigrants and refugees in Seattle, especially in fostering a tight-knit community!" -Vaishnavi
